The latest PET scan confirmed many new lesions throughout my bones. I'll be going into the Kaiser Oakland hospital starting tomorrow morning . I'll begin the newest treatment which could last 5-10 days depending on how it goes. Possible scary side-effects, so hoping for the best.

There was disagreement whether or not to do a lumbar puncture in order to determine whether or not the cancer has also invaded my brain (not just my brain skull). The Kaiser neurologist didn’t think it was necessary to do the lumbar pucture as he said he could already see evidence that the cancer cells have started to invade my brain. However, Dr. Sidana at Stanford looked at the same scan and didn’t see evidence for this. She still thought I should get a lumbar puncture to get a more accurate assessment. Dr. Green at Kaiser agreed with Dr. Sidana. So, some time over the next week or so, that’s being scheduled.

I’m planning to bring my laptop as well as my phone with me so I can keep in touch as much as possible. I don't know what the set-up will be as far as visitors, but I'll let you know.
